Who runs this site
State Wage Tools is an independent, developer-built reference project based in Portland, Oregon. It is not a law firm, a government agency, or a payroll company. One person researches the statutes, writes the calculators, and answers the email below.
Report a calculation error or a broken source
Accuracy is the entire point of this site, so error reports are genuinely welcome and are read. Email hello@statewagetools.com and include:
- The calculator URL (for example,
/california/overtime/). - The exact inputs you used.
- The result the calculator showed.
- The official source — a statute section, administrative rule, or labor-agency page — you believe controls.
Reports that name a primary source get fixed fastest, because the fix and its citation can be verified in one step.
Privacy questions
For questions about data, cookies, or advertising, email privacy@statewagetools.com. The privacy policy describes what is and is not collected. Please do not email Social Security numbers, payroll records, or other sensitive personal information — no calculator on this site needs them, and they are never requested.
What this site cannot do
This is a reference tool, not a legal or payroll service. It cannot review your specific paycheck, represent you in a wage claim, or give legal advice. If you believe you are owed wages, contact your state labor agency directly — each state calculator links to the agency and the filing deadline for that state. The methodology page explains how the tools are built and where their limits are.
Response time
This is a solo project, so replies are not instant. Substantive corrections are prioritized over general questions. Every reported calculation error is investigated against the primary source before any change ships.
